ECONOR is the latest pleuromutilin antibiotic. Unlike other veterinary disease control antibiotics, such as tylosin, tilmicosin and lincomycin, pleuromutilins are not used in human medicine and are not associated with problems of resistance development in organisms of public health significance. They do not share patterns of cross-resistance with human use antibiotics and do not pollute the environment.
