Artificial infection study in United Kingdom - (1998)

In a challenge study the efficacy of ECONOR was tested at a dose level of 25ppm (treatment period: 4 days prior + 14 days post challenge).
 
Results: ECONOR effectively prevented spirochaetal colitis with substantial clinical and microbiological improvements.

Artificial infection study in United Kingdom (2002)

The efficacy of ECONOR was evaluated in a challenge study at a dose level of 1.25mg/kg bw (25ppm) (medication period: 2 to 27 days post-exposure).
 
Results: Excellent protection against PCS infection. Reduction of severity of clinical signs by 65% and excretion of B.pilicosi. by 97%. Improvement in daily gain (+30%) and gain/feed (+18%).

Field trial - United Kingdom (2000)

One field study was conducted in a farm (SPF herd, free from SD and PPE) in United Kingdom to evaluate the efficacy in the prevention of a naturally- occurring outbreak of Colitis
 
ECONOR was given at 1.25mg/kg bw for 28 days.
 
Results: ECONOR was highly effective in the prevention of Colitis. Reduction of the clinical signs resulted in a significant improvement in performance.
